Nascar drone racing

KY Speedway Cup

Summer Classic

Date: July 29th. (Rain day July 30th)

Information about the event

The KY Speedway Cup is a individual drone racing event, this will not be a team racing event. Contestants compete in the IDRA Challengers Cup to earn points at IDRA sanctioned regional and international events. The Top 32 Ranked Pilots, in the world, will be invited to compete in the IDRA Challengers Cup Finals to determine the world champion in the semi-professional/amateur class.

Directions to the event: the event will be at the Quarter Mile inside the NASCAR track. Please take a look at the map to find your way in. Before going through the tunnel, there is a checkpoint to collect the parking fee of $10.00 and sign waivers. Register pilots do not need to pay this but YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PILOTS REGISTRATION RECEIPT, otherwise you will have to pay. Please remember, you have been warned.

Once you have parked your car, please head to Bluegrass Hall to get your badge which will allow you to access the track area.

Pilots meeting will start at 9:00 am, so please show up early.

The Racing

This race is apart of the Challenger Cup Series, so we will be following the IDRA rules. Please read up on the racing format and rules since they will be very different from what I normally run for my events.

One thing I can say (Wai Lam) is that the track will be much longer than usual with more gates than what I normally would run. This is to make up for the reduce laps per heat (IDRA 3 lap Challengers Cup format).

June 11th, 2017 - Ticket sales are now open for purchase.

Hey all, we are opening up registration for the KY Speedway Cup on July 29th. This event will be apart of the IDRA Challengers Cup Series. Justin from the IDRA has strongly hinted that the Challengers Cup Championship is going to be on the East Coast and I want give our East Coast Pilots a chance at getting in. More chance for pilots to get into the spot light!

This is a one time event for us (AT Drone Racing) at this venue. So if you want to get some cool footage at the Speedway, this is probably your only chance to do it legally.

The venue - KY Speedway

This will be the followup event to the Mega Drone X, we have been working hard with the KY Speedway to get this event off the ground. A NASCAR track is the spectacular venue to hold a drone racing event. Please take a look.

May 15th, 2017 - All contracts have been signed, the event is set for July 29th. In the event of rain, we can reschedule to July 30th or move the event to a Fall date. We are now looking at the racing formats and getting sponsors.

Ticket Sales are expect to go on sale by Mid June, 2017.
